OsteoThera™ products are vitamin and mineral blends formulated to build and maintain good bone health with a multifactorial approach.† OsteoThera™ formulas supply a highly absorbable source of calcium and natural-form vitamin D, together with magnesium, vitamin K, and boron, to provide combined support for the density, strength, formation, and metabolism of bones.†
By attaching calcium to citric and malic acids, a very soluble calcium compound is formed that is more absorbable compared to other forms of calcium such as calcium carbonate, a form commonly used in many dietary supplements.† Calcium citrate-malate is also very safe and generally well-tolerated.
Proper calcium utilization is crucial to optimize and maintain bone mineral density.† Magnesium supports bone strength and remodeling, while boron promotes calcium and magnesium balance.† Vitamin D is essential for calcium absorption and bone mineral density.† Vitamin K activates proteins used in bone metabolism.† The combined actions of these nutrients create a more comprehensive approach to maintaining bone health.†
Several different forms of vitamin K exist, with the primary dietary form being vitamin K1, or phylloquinone, found primarily in green vegetables. Another form of vitamin K known as vitamin K2, or menaquinone, is found in animal products such as meat or eggs, as well as in foods such as cheese and natto, a fermented soy product. While most of the benefits of vitamin K were previously attributed to vitamin K1, recent research has identified important benefits for vitamin K2. For optimal bone health, this product provides vitamin K1 and vitamin K2 as menaquinone-4 (MK-4) and menaquinone-7 (MK-7).†
